Azerbaijan declares contest of innovative teachers
Microsoft Azerbaijan (MA) with the support of the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan has announced the next Contest of Innovative Teachers in the country.
Microsoft reports that the competition objective is to reveal teachers using the best innovative method of teaching in secondary schools, create network of innovative teachers of secondary schools working in education system of Azerbaijan, improvement of the process of use of information technologies by them and creation of necessary conditions for pupils to train them skills of the XXI century.
“The contest is conducted in nomination “Innovations in Content” which is aimed at defining the best education projects allowing with help of innovative approaches and use of information technologies to teach training program effectively,” it was reported.
A contest participant should be a secondary school teacher, have knowledge of project methods, and use IT. For participation in the contest an applicant should present a project plan and ensure participation of school children in it.
The contest will compose two stages. At primary stage the candidate should submit description of the project to be considered by the jury. At the second stage every finalist will make presentation of his project. The winners among finalists on two nominations will be selected by both pedagogical and parent jury. Winners on each of the nomination will hold first, second and third places. Deadline for acceptance of projects is 15 August.
The winner of Azerbaijani stage of the contest will represent the country in the International Contest of Innovative Teachers in Brazil this November.
Azerbaijani teachers, who represented the country in the European Forum of Innovative Teachers this March, got in the TOP 10 following the contest.

Being Azerbaijani stage of International Forum of Innovative Teachers, this contest is a component of Programme “Partnership in Education” that is realized jointly by the Education Ministry and Microsoft and is taking place in compliance with State Education Computerization 2008-12.
Azerbaijani stage of the contest is given support by humanitarian organization MADAD, companies ULTRA, HP, Intel program “Education for the Future”, and AZEDUNET and British Council.
