Rules of student admission to universities and vocational schools of Azerbaijan in academic year of 2010-2011 approved
The State Student Admission Commission (SSAC) published rules of admission to universities and secondary vocational schools of Azerbaijan for 2010/2011 academic year.
“In accordance with the presidential decree on implementation of new funding mechanism of the universities issued on February 10, 2010 the commission has made some changes to the rules of admission of students to universities and vocational schools in the 2010/2011 academic year”- Maleyka Abbaszade, chairman of SSAC noted at today’s press conference. It is decided to introduce certain changes to the exam in a foreign language on the 2nd and 3rd groups of specialties in the Azerbaijan sector. In accordance with this decision, the Russian language is included to the list of foreign languages in the 2nd and 3rd groups of specialties in the Azerbaijani sector. Therefore, school leavers of 2nd group of speciality of Azerbaijani sector as a foreign language choose English, German, Russian or French, and Russian sector school leavers - English, German or French.
In the second group of specialties Arabic and Persian languages are excluded from the list of foreign languages. In the third group in the Azerbaijani sector school leavers will be able to select English, German, French, Russian, Arabic or Persian, and in the Russian sector - English, German or French as a foreign language. A relative grade for the "foreign language" subject will be applied unlike previous years, in the subgroup DT of the third group of speciality in the Azerbaijani sector.
